We are on the witness stand, God is the judge, Satan is the prosecuting attorney, and Jesus Christ is your lawyer. While this might sound a bit surreal, let’s consider a few things about what the Bible tells us about these three in their respective roles. First, we see that God is the judge.
As Luke puts it, he wanted to “justify himself.” And so he asks the one question he believes will do just that: “Who is my neighbor?” He thought he knew what Jesus would answer, and he assumed that the response would shine a light on his respectability, would show him for what he was, a man on the right side of things.

These lawyers may already be familiar with certain accounting practices through their work with tax regulations and auditing cases, but they will have to meet certain state specific education, experience and examination requirements to gain the accounting credential. The typical prerequisites for becoming a C.P.A. is 150 hours of accounting education that is usually done through a state approved university undergraduate accounting degree program, a comprehensive four-part accounting proficiency examination and relevant accounting work experience that is supervised by a C.P.A.
The accounting and legal fields are closely associated especially in cases of tax, audits and business valuation.
Both the accounting and legal professions require a passion for lifelong learning, since the codes that regulate both disciplines are subject to change. Also, rulings on legal cases tend to set precedence for future cases, and accounting lawyers should be familiar with those that apply to their areas of specialty.

Few people realize the difference between the ethical rules that apply to attorneys and the ones that apply to accountants. Unlike accountants, attorneys owe their clients a duty of loyalty and are bound to advocate for their clients’ best interests. They cannot violate that duty.

The only confidential information about you that an accountant cannot be forced to divulge is the tax advice he or she gave you. However, even this is limited because it does not apply to tax shelters or criminal matters. On the other hand, anything you tell or provide your attorney are “privileged communications.”.
Nor can an accountant prepare legal documents or advocate for you in a court of law. Only an attorney can do these things. Doing so without a law license is the “unauthorized practice of law” and can be a criminal offense.
Tax attorneys and tax accountants charge about the same hourly rates, which will vary among them based on their expertise and experience. As with any hourly professional, the more work you ask them to do, the more it will cost you. Most attorneys and accountants are happy to quote their hourly rates and tell you what they expect the total charges to be. Accountants can usually give you a very close estimate, even a fixed fee, for preparing your tax return because they do hundreds, or thousands, of returns just like yours every year.
The role of Jesus Christ as our advocate is an expansive one. When we as human beings make mistakes and find ourselves under fire by an angry accuser, it’s comforting to know that not only do we have a good lawyer by our side, we have the support and comfort provided by a warm, loving friend!
This, of course, is not a license to do whatever we like and incorporate sin into our lives as a habit. Remember how John begins his statement in 1 John 2:1. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I to you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Again, the word here for "accuser" in the original Greek has a very legal sense about it. It means to be a prosecutor —an attorney who is trying to convict us of a crime! Knowing then that Satan is constantly bringing accusations against us, the role of Jesus Christ as our advocate begins to become much clearer.

Money is a pointless topic within this debate because anyone who is motivated primarily by money is myopic and soulless. I’d avoid any profession that is populated with these type of people (which probably explains why I work at home, ALL ALONE *sob*)
Accountants, on the other hand, all want to be Gordon Gekko except they don’t have the smarts or the charisma or the guts to take a chance on anything but the cream cheese they want on their bagel. When they’ve realized that the best options they have are either being a partner at a small accounting firm or controller of a real estate company that specializes in storage units, they lose all ambition because those two jobs allow you a somewhat decent life.
There are lawyers who say law is awesome and accounting is boring. There are accountants who say accounting is awesome and law is boring. There are lawyers and accountants who will tell you that the work of both profession is boring. To this latter group, I would say shut up and stop obsessing over money.
He knew that when the law has done it's work in the heart of a man or women they will come asking for mercy, not for direction on what good things they could do to gain eternal life. We see this quite often in the gospels: If a person comes by the law, Jesus answers them with the law.

On one level, Jesus' answer about the good Samaritan pointed out that this man didn't love like he should. It pointed out that he was actually like the priest and the Levite in the story who were only willing to help those they liked. But the story was used to teach this lawyer much more.
He used oil (Holy Spirit) and Wine (his blood) to bring healing. The Inn: Just as the Good Samaritan tended to the wounds of the beat man and brought him into the inn, so Jesus brings those that are beaten and robbed into His church where they can be taken care of.
Just as the Samaritan gave provision to the keepers of the inn so they can look after the man, so Jesus gives gifts and provisions to His shepherds to look after His sheep. That is the plan of God for this age. The church is to look after those that the Lord seeks and finds using the resources that Jesus gives.
2. The Priest and Levite: His philosophy of life says, "What I have is mine." This is rugged individualism that has gone to seed. His cry is, "Let the world be damned, I will get mine." This is godless capitalism.
Instead, it pointed the lawyer to the One, the despised One... the Lord Jesus, who was the true good Samaritan who went out of His way to save mankind. Jesus didn't cross over to the other side of the road. He saw the problem and didn't look for someone else to sort the problem. He made no excuses.

If you make statements or provide documents to your accountant, he can be compelled to divulge them no matter how incriminating.
The attorney is the client in a Kovel engagement so the accountant should address all correspondence to the lawyer. That means information acquired by an accountant under a Kovel agreement should be distinguished from information collected by the accountant as an auditor or in some other capacity.
It was added in to the tax code (IRC Section 7525 (a) (1)) in 1998. But it is quite narrow, and is completely inapplicable to criminal tax cases. That makes it of little value. In contrast, attorney-client privilege is worth a great deal and provides enormous protections under the law.
