At the federal level, the attorney general is appointed by the president, so he takes his orders from the president. At state level, I believe most, if not all, AGs are elected. Does that then mean that they do not have to take orders from the governor? And if they do what is the point of electing AGs in the first place. They aren't all elected, some are appointed by the governor.

Looking for some insight from drivers if possible. I know trucks are supposed to be weighed but I've rarely seen weigh stations being used. I also see dedicated truck only parts of interstates with rumble strips and toll tag style sensors. Is the weigh station obsolete?
