It is the mission of the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s office to fairly and diligently represent the People of the State of New York and the People of St. Lawrence County in all criminal proceedings, to safeguard the rights of victims, and to seek justice with steadfast and ethical determination.
The District Attorney’s Office prosecutes all criminal cases in St. Lawrence County. The district attorney and seven assistant district attorneys appear at hearings, trials, and other court proceedings in St. Lawrence County Court, Supreme Court, Family Court and the thirty-six city, town and village courts across the county.
Nassau County Democratic leader Jay Jacobs admitted “it was not a particularly good night.”
Republicans used Todd Kaminsky’s vote for a controversial bail reform law to defeat him at the polls.
Republican Elaine Phillips, a former state senator, also buried Democratic rival Ryan Cronin in the Nassau comptroller’s race, with 61 percent or 145,175 votes to 94,445 votes or 39 percent.
Kaminsky voted for bail reform as part of the 2019 state budget. He pushed for amendments to the law a year later to address complaints.
