Seth Adams suffered one gunshot wound to the right forearm, shattering the bone and severing the ulnar artery. He also suffered gunshot wounds to the right, upper chest, and left ribcage. A fourth shot missed him. Adams was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, in West Palm Beach, where he was pronounced dead a couple of hours later. It was determined that the gunshot wound to the chest was the fatal wound. Adams was 24 years old. He is survived by his parents, a brother, and a sister-in-law. The decedent’s parents sought recovery of wrongful death damages for loss of their child and sought recovery for their emotional distress.
