The only real shortcoming with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is that it isn't fully voice-acted, which would make the experience more immersive. Both the English and Japanese voice tracks sound authentic, especially the former since Capcom employed British actors to portray the main cast.

Yeah there wasn't any voice acting because the Ace Attorney trilogy were originally a DS port of a GBA game. The series sadly hasn't evolved to do full on voice acting in any games yet. The closest it has ever gotten was a cross over game where the other side did have a lot more voice acting.
Phoenix Wright's 3DS debut Ace Attorney 5 will feature voice acting - a first for the series. According to a report in Nintendo Dream (via Siliconera), Capcom acknowledged this is bound to be a divisive move that won't please everyone, but after careful consideration it decided this was the best way to progress.
