Picking up six months after the events in Season 1, Bosch returns from a suspension. He investigates the murder of a Hollywood producer who appears to have mob connections. His investigation of the producer sends him to Las Vegas, where he also finds out that all is not well with his teenage daughter and ex-wife. Bosch's investigation almost threatens the life of his family as he is also brought into another case that leads to a ring of dirty cops. New evidence appears on the death of his mother, which causes him to investigate the circumstances leading to her murder.

The first half of this season had Bosch and Jerry in an awkward place in their relationship, but the death of Eleanor has brought them back together (as tragedies often do).
We have seen that the Korea Town Killer is still on the loose this season and while he’s not really focusing on murder as much anymore, he’s still robbing everyone he can. What’s different this time is that after he snatched a phone off a woman’s table he ended up getting hit by a car and is knocked out cold when Grace shows up on the scene.
The highlight of the episode for us was the conversation in the closing minutes between Bosch and Maddie (really their whole relationship has been the highlight this season).
Things have mostly been going really well for these two as they have been spending a lot of time together – so much time in fact that their kids basically feel that Jerry should move home immediately if not sooner (and Jerry also agrees).
Bosch took down one of the suspects that killed Eleanor in the last episode but the other man (Eddie) got away. He tracked down Eddie with the help of FBI agent Calvin Moy, but he was already dead leaving only Chen left. They track him down to an airstrip but it’s too late – he’s already boarding a private jet and flying away.
The Mayor and Walker are putting pressure on Irving to remove Bosch from the Elias case thinking that they can get someone else in who will close this case in a way that satisfies everyone – quickly and without doubt.
We loved this finale. It wrapped up the long standing mystery/justice for Bosch’s mother as well as giving us some kind of closure on Eleanor as well and that’s exactly what we wanted to see moving into season 5.
