Oliver Queen first appears in the pilot episode of Arrow. For his first mission, Novu takes Oliver to Earth-2 to retrieve dwarf star particles from Tommy Merlyn, who is the Dark Archer of that Earth , with the help of Laurel and Earth 2's Green Arrow Adrian Chase. Oliver succeeds in his mission, only to witness Earth-2's destruction with Laurel its only survivor.
During the first season, Oliver focuses on a list , written by his father, of targets that are taking advantage of the citizens. Subsequent seasons have him venturing into all criminal activity, and he shifts from being willing to kill to having a rule against all killing as a means of stopping assailants.
As the "Arrow" persona has been tarnished, Oliver now goes by the code name "The Green Arrow" as he becomes a vigilante once again, but as a symbol of hope for the city, gradually regaining Diggle's trust. Oliver also decides to run for mayor of Star City.
Green Arrow kills Damien Darhk. As Darhk activated the nukes, Oliver gave a public speech to the citizens rioting in Star City. He got everyone to calm down and Felicity with the help of Curtis disabled the nuke heading for the city. Oliver fought Darhk in public in front of a mob of Star City citizens.
The Arrow requested Felicity call an ambulance for the captain. Oliver returned to the base, checking that Felicity was okay. He sent Roy out to patrol for Werner's men and instructed Dig to go home to look after Lyla. Felicity and Oliver headed to Queen Consolidated for Oliver's meeting with the company's board.
Oliver spent 5 months happily living with Felicity. The two of them traveled a lot, during which Oliver learned how to cook, before eventually settling down in Ivy Town. He revealed to his new friends, Adam and Laura Hoffman, of his plans to propose to Felicity that evening over a romantic dinner. After learning his enemy was Damien Darhk and realizing he and Felicity actually missed this old life, Oliver decided to return to his crusade to help Star City once more. Since everyone believed Roy was the Arrow, who was "killed", Oliver adopted a new alias, "Green Arrow", and vowed to be the symbol of hope that the Arrow never was.
Oliver managed to recover a laptop ridden with bullets. The Hood warns Lance about Deadshot's attack. The next day, he took the laptop to Queen Consolidated's I.T. department and was directed to Felicity Smoak. Oliver asked her to salvage information from the laptop, with a poor excuse.

Oliver and the other eventually escaped the Dominators' mothership by hijack a small pod and managed to get on to the Waverider. Eventually, realizing that the Dominators' plan was to exterminate all meta-human life on Earth, Oliver, Barry, and Kara lead the everyone and defeated the Dominators saving the Earth.
Cold temperatures: Because speed is produced by a build-up of heat in the target's atoms, Oliver is vulnerable to extreme cold temperatures. Under these conditions, Oliver 's speed will be greatly reduced. Also, direct exposure to such cold will temporarily stunt his healing capacities. However, since learning to regulate his body temperature with a buildup of energy, he has a much higher resilience to cold.

Unbeknownst to him, his grandparents later sever all of his ties with his father and stepmother, leading him to believe that they have abandoned him.
In The Flash season two episode, " Welcome to Earth-2 ", it is revealed that Oliver's Earth-2 doppelganger died on the Queen's Gambit (Arrowverse) . In season eight, Oliver, pretending to be his Earth-2 doppelganger, was stranded on Lian Yu for twelve years instead of five years.
Thomas "Tommy" Merlyn (portrayed by Colin Donnell; main: season 1; guest: seasons 2–3, 6-8) is Oliver Queen's best friend and Malcolm Merlyn ’s son. It is also revealed that Tommy is the brother of Oliver’s sister Thea Queen. Tommy is an original character for the show, not based on anyone in the comics until he was adapted for comics in 2012.

Malcolm Merlyn (portrayed by John Barrowman ; main: seasons 3–4; recurring: seasons 1–2, 5; guest: 7 & 8), born Arthur King, is a wealthy businessman, a member of the League of Assassins, the father of Tommy and Thea and is the main antagonist of season one. During season one, Malcolm plots the Undertaking, the destruction of the Glades using an earthquake device, after his wife Rebecca was murdered there. When Robert Queen earlier threatened the Undertaking, Malcolm arranged to destroy Robert's ship, Queen's Gambit, resulting in Robert's death and indirectly leading to Oliver and Sara becoming the Arrow and the Canary. In the main story of season one, he uses Moira to gain access to the resources needed for the Undertaking. He tries to reshape Tommy into a better person by cutting him off which works but causes tensions between them. When the Arrow interferes with his plan, Malcolm becomes a vigilante called "Dark Archer" to oppose him and proves to be far more skilled. He suspects Oliver to be the Arrow and is proven right after defeating him a second time. In the season finale, Malcolm is seemingly killed by Oliver though he manages to destroy much of the Glades, inadvertently kills Tommy, and is publicly exposed for his crime by Moira.
Thompson also portrays the Earth-2 doppelgänger where she is married to the Earth-2 version of Malcolm Merlyn. She is then seen to be eraded after a wave of the anti-matter destroys Earth-2.

Zero Year. During the Zero Year, Oliver came back from the island and learned about the Gotham blackout, and the fact that his mother Moira Queen went there to help. Realizing that his mother could be in danger, Oliver insisted on going straight to Gotham to find her.
Pike, unfortunately, accidentally activated the detonator, giving Oliver just thirty seconds to save both of their lives.
The next day, Walter and Moira gave Oliver a tour of Queen Consolidated, with Moira insisting that he follow in Robert's footsteps and take a leading position at the company. However, Oliver refused, prompting a brief argument over his legacy as Robert's son and leaving Moira disappointed.
Expert investigator: Moira was an excellent investigator, as she was able to eventually track down and uncover the remains of the Queen's Gambit after it sank and was presumed lost. She is also a very observant woman, having deduced Felicity Smoak 's romantic feelings for her son, Oliver, despite only knowing Felicity briefly. Moira even figured out Oliver's identity as the Arrow during the Undertaking.
Thea refused to visit her for five months, as she was still angry with her . After his second return from the island, Oliver visited Moira in prison, where she warned him not to trust Isabel Rochev. It is also implied that she suggested that Oliver ask her ex-husband, Walter Steele, for help to save the company from falling into Isabel's hands. After being kidnapped by The Hoods, Thea realized Moira was only trying to protect her and Oliver from danger. Thea visited Moira in prison for the first time since her arrest, and they shared a tearful exchange and hug.
During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Oliver sacrificed his life to reboot the multiverse, creating a new universe, Earth-Prime, where another version of Moira existed with the same personal history as the former Earth-1 version, albeit with several key changes.
Oliver revealed he survived the sinking of the Queen's Gambit and was about to return home. Overjoyed, Moira proclaimed that she loved Oliver, crying over the phone.
Jean suggests to Thea that she break up with Roy, a previously convicted felon, to uphold Moira's reputation as a devoted mother who raised good children. Thea dumps Roy but does not reveal the real reason until Moira contacts Roy and Thea from the prison, bringing them together again.
When Malcolm left Starling City after Rebecca's death, Moira and Robert took in Tommy Merlyn, whom they raised as their own son. Moira became acquainted with the Lance family through Oliver and Tommy's friendship with Laurel and Sara Lance. When Oliver started dating Laurel, Moira was supportive of their relationship.
We saw the unnamed woman again at Jitters in Central City when Oliver was visiting for the big crossover. They bumped into each other, exchanged a few awkward words, then Oliver left, after which the woman spoke to her child on the phone.
From the sound of it, Stephen Amell thinks Oliver’s offspring is a story that deserves more attention. Stephen Amell noted that he’s very interested to see how Oliver interacts with his child, being a dad himself, but from the sound of it, it’s all about timing in terms of when that meeting will actually take place….
One of the big tenets of Greg Berlanti, is you don’t introduce something to the audience, you don’t tease it, if you’re not going to follow through with it in some way, shape, or form. So, I think it’s a safe bet that Oliver will find out about his child at some point.
We learned that Oliver was a father in “ Seeing Red ,” an episode in the second season, wherein Oliver’s mother quietly paid the pregnant young woman off to lie to Oliver about losing the baby and then depart Starling and return to Central City.
Oliver Queen has a child, that much we know. But Oliver doesn’t. This plot twist was introduced in the second season of Arrow and barely explored, let alone resolved. It was revisited briefly in an episode of The Flash, and promptly dropped again.
