Jeffrey Coho is an intense, grandiose criminal defense attorney from the New York City branch of Crane, Poole & Schmidt who joins the Boston firm in Season 3, accompanied by Claire Simms. Jeffrey is as comfortable with making enemies as he is making friends. He had a fleeting relationship with Denise, and as such is cordially despised by Brad Chase. After finding out that Denise's baby is not his, Jeffrey leaves the firm in episode fifteen of Season three, wearing his Buzz Lightyear costume.

He also refuses to defend anyone who is accused of extremely heinous acts; in one episode, he shoots a client because of the nature of his crime ( raping and murdering a child). Judge Clark Brown (played by Henry Gibson, 24 episodes): A Boston judge the Crane, Poole & Schmidt lawyers appear before often and even take on as a client in one episode. A 70-year-old who still lives with his mother, Judge Brown likes to humiliate criminals he convicts in addition to normal punishment. Although Judge Brown claims to be a "conscientious fact finder", both Alan and Denny are able to appeal to his insecurities to gain favorable rulings. Initially thought to be a virgin, Brown admitted to having relationships with men in the Season 3 episode "Selling Sickness." He also often utters strong adjectives like "Shocking!" or "Disgusting!" during witness testimony, and often describes things as "Outrageous!" Despite his eccentricities, Brown often delivers thoughtful and eloquent verbal opinions on his cases and is willing to entertain unconventional but moral lawsuits.
Brad Chase. Brad Chase as played by Mark Valley on "Boston Legal". Brad Chase was transferred from Crane, Poole & Schmidt 's D.C. office in the pilot episode to assist in curbing Denny Crane 's erratic conduct.
However, when Coho left the firm due to not being the father of Denise's unborn child, he left on seemingly friendly terms with Brad.
In the third season episode " The Nutcrackers ", Jeffrey Coho, in an attempt at reconciliation, mentions "Peace on Earth," a line from Hark the Herald Angels Sing, to which Brad responds, "I knew it. Liberal"; indicating an opposing view of politics.
Boston Legal was a legal dramedy series than ran on ABC from 2004 to 2008. It was to the Bunny-Ears Lawyer trope what House is to Dr. Jerk. The series starts as a senior partner at the firm goes completely insane and has to be hauled off to a sanitarium — and the rest of the staff aren't models of mental wellness, either. They include a renowned trial lawyer in the early stages of Alzheimer's (affectionately referred to as Mad Cow Disease by him and the rest of the firm), several lawyers suffering from everything from extreme shyness to Asperger Syndrome, and the lead, who is merely lecherous and corrupt (although he, too, suffers from occasional mental issues ). Together they take on cases that are almost as odd as they are.
Boston Legal begins with Alan having settled in for what must be a year (if you go by Alan's claim to have known Denny for six years in the series finale).
Lori as well, when she conceals evidence to keep one of her informants out of jail for a crime he committed... but then got mad at Alan for concealing the same evidence she was trying to hide.
A father once pulled a gun on Alan at work after Alan agreed to represent the guy's ex-wife in a custody battle.
Boston Legal is a comedy-drama. Like an Old Married Couple: Denny and Alan, of course. Lost Episode: The end of the first season was pre-empted to allow Grey's Anatomy to establish itself. As a result some of those episodes were cut, and the production team used the footage to create new episodes.
This is played straight in another episode where Katie Lloyd asks the husband of the victim if he was the murderer.
Jeffrey Coho takes this Up to Eleven during his big trial. He accuses three separate witnesses of being the murderer, including the husband and the neighbor of the victim. Lastly, he accuses the mother of a defendant of being the real murderer of the defendant's lover, in order to get the son acquitted.
