Manhunt: Unabomber (formerly known as "Manifesto") will explore how the FBI caught infamous criminal masterminds, with each closed-ended season following a different case.
As of 2017, the Unabomber's cabin, featured prominently in this series, is on display at the Newseum in Washington, DC.
The working title for the series was Manifesto, and the series order was announced in March 2016 at a presentation by Discovery Communications president Rich Ross. On May 15, 2016, Entertainment Weekly released several promotional photos, showing a first look at Paul Bettany's portrayal of Ted Kaczynski.

Judy Clare Clarke is the daughter of Harry Wilson Clarke and Patsy Clarke. Patsy Clarke was the daughter of a Massachusetts movie theater manager who moved the family to Asheville when Patsy was a teen. Her parents met while in college together. Clarke grew up in Asheville, North Carolina.
