On November 4, 2008, Tom Corbett won re-election to the office of Pennsylvania Attorney General. He defeated John M. Morganelli (D) and Marakay J. Rogers (L) in the general election.

Morganelli was first elected as District Attorney of Northampton County in 1991 and has been re-elected five times since. From 1999-2000 he served as President of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys’ Association and has served as a Special Deputy Attorney General and as an advisor to the Governor on crime issues. He is the author of the book, “The D-day Bank Massacre:The True Story Behind the Martin Appel Case.”
