Will there be an Ace Attorney 7 game? Based on several high profile leaks from Capcom it certainly looks that way. Although, given how long it’s been since the last mainline Ace Attorney game, and the added delays to the release schedule of Ace Attorney 7 – at least based on the Capcom leaks – it’s understandable if some fans are starting to worry about when the next Pheonix Wright ...
Hi, everyone. A few important things I think I should put out into this subreddit's space. We're a little under two weeks out from the Tokyo Game Show, and so we're once again walking into the yearly loop of anticipation for possible new regarding Ace Attorney, other Capcom franchises, and the offerings of the various other companies involved with the event for the year. First, a reminder ...
Ace Attorney 7 leaked release date. User u/stealthyfrog on Reddit translated the internal Ace Attorney road map from the leak, confirming there are plans for the franchise. The roadmap shows a few plans for AA 7 and a few other games. Notably, the plan shows that the development for Ace Attorney 7 is already well underway.
Ace Attorney 7 is likely a long way away, and that’s a good thing.. I don’t want Capcom to rush out a new game on the heels of the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles that turns out to just be the same Ace Attorney we’ve grown familiar with over nearly two decades.
When Ryunosuke is charged with murder in the first case, an Englishwoman named Jezaille Brett testifies. The perpetrators in beginning Ace Attorney cases are always very obvious, allowing the player to learn the ropes, but The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles messes with this notion. The appearance of Jezaille is more than just a tutorial – it’s a thesis on what the game wants to convey about the unfairness of empire.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is harshly critical of Britain and Japan’s ties with it from the start. Kazuma Asogi, Ryunosuke’s spouse, is the principal critic of the unequal treaties negotiated between the two countries, claiming at one point that “our wimpy administration is afraid of upsetting England’s policymakers.”
Phoenix Wright chooses to defend his long-time friend and discovers that his adversary is none other than Von Karma (Ryo Ishibashi). Von Karma is a legendary prosecutor who has never lost a court case in his more than 40 years of practice! Meanwhile, Attorney Phoenix Wright is set to unravel a 15-year-old mystery…
Jezaille is an outright racist from the start. She accuses Japanese people of being untrustworthy and ignorant, and she is particularly scathing of their language’s “vulgarity.” Regardless, the judge and prosecutor adore her and England in general. When Ryunosuke starts making charges, they accuse him of jeopardizing the fragile relationship between the two countries. Also, you will find out which Ace Attorney character are you in this quiz.
Ryunosuke is acquitted, but it is strongly indicated that Jezaille will walk free. Though Ryunosuke does not take the blame, he is dissatisfied with how imperialist diplomacy thwarted justice and ultimately stopped the complete truth from being disclosed.

Considering the (likely working title) name given in the Capcom documents, Ace Attorney 7 is believed to be set after Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, which came out in 2016. That involved us visiting the Kingdom of Khura'in, seeing the return of Maya Fey.
However, that same document also lists Great Ace Attorney for a Q1 2021 launch and that's now being released on July 27, 2021. As such, that falls within Q3. Considering many games have faced delays due to the global pandemic, it's not unreasonable to assume both might've faced issues.
Alternatively, Ace Attorney 7 could've been pushed back so it doesn't clash with Great Ace Attorney. Until Capcom officially confirms it though, we'll have to wait for further details.
