Where is James Wieser?

Born in Hammond, Indiana, James L. Wieser is a lifelong resident of Lake County. He's a 1965 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute, a 1969 graduate of John Carroll University, and a 1972 graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law. James has been a practicing law in Lake County for 40 years and is currently the senior partner at Wieser & Wyllie, LLP. He concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal law and real estate development law, with an emphasis on planning and zoning issues. Previous to Wieser & Wyllie, James served in roles including but not limited to: Lake County Councilman, County Council President, Town Attorney of Highland, and Member of the Board of Directors of Peoples Bank.

Mr. Wyllie has one adult son, who is a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, All-Male College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, Butler University in Indianapolis and Valparaiso University School of Law. He is employed with William Morris Endeavor talent agency in Beverly Hills, California.

History

Long before Indiana became a state, long before the founding of Schererville, people called the area the "Crossroads," as several Native American trails intersected here, that later became routes for the wagons of settlers traveling west.

Schererville is located at#N#WikiMiniAtlas#N#41°29′21″N 87°26′35″W#N# /  41.48917°N 87.44306°W  / 41.48917; -87.44306#N#(41.489135, -87.443137) in Lake County, Indiana. Schererville is 11 miles south of the Lake Michigan shore and 2 miles east of the Indiana/Illinois state line.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 29,243 people, 11,883 households, and 7,981 families living in the town. The population density was 1,988.0 inhabitants per square mile (767.6/km 2 ). There were 12,393 housing units at an average density of 842.5 per square mile (325.3/km 2 ).

Schererville is served by the Lake Central School Corporation, which also services the adjacent towns of St. John and Dyer .
