There are no special questions asked by prosecuting attorneys during cross-examination. In a trial, when either side calls a witness, the other side is entitled to cross examine the witness. The key difference between direct examination and cross examination, is that on direct examination, only non-leading questions are allowed.

My question would be "are you sure you want to take the stand?" I almost never think a defendant should take the stand. The prosecutor always has more legal knowledge, experience, and knows how to trip up defendants. It is almost always a bad idea.
