Wade H. Bowie, I I, has been the Coffey County Attorney since October 2018, when he was appointed by the Coffey County Republican Committee. Wade is a career prosecutor committed to community safety and offender accountability and is pleased to bring his experience to the citizens of Coffey County.
Wade H. Bowie, II, graduated in 2001 with a BS in Criminal Justice from Washburn University (Topeka, KS) and from Washburn University School of Law (Topeka, KS) in 2004.
In May of 2005, Wade started his legal career as a contract attorney representing parents in child abuse and neglect cases in Shawnee County. In September of 2005, Wade relocated to Iola to accept a position as an Assistant County Attorney in Allen County.
As the elected prosecutor for Allen County, Wade handled a variety of cases including juvenile matters (child abuse and neglect/juvenile delinquency), misdemeanors, felonies, the care and treatment of mentally ill and civil forfeiture work.
In August of 2013, Wade was sworn in as a member of the State Bar of Michigan. In December of 2014, Wade resigned as Allen County Attorney and relocated to the state of Michigan. In his time in Michigan, Wade remained committed to public service and served as an Assistant Prosecutor in St. Clair County, Michigan and in Wayne County, Michigan.
In 2014, Wade was awarded the Kansas Prosecutor's Community Service Award by the Kansas Prosecutor's Foundation for his extensive efforts made within the local community in addition to his role as a prosecutor.
