Santmyer Oil Co., Inc. began as a commissioned Gulf distributor in 1952 when Myron Santmyer opened a Gulf service station in Dalton, Ohio. In 1965, the company moved to a larger facility in Wooster, Ohio.Terry Santmyer bought the business in 1980, when it consisted of two tankwagon trucks and three employees.Today, Santmyer Oil Co. has bulk storage facilities in Wooster, Dalton, Ashland, and Mt. Vernon with 15 tankwagon trucks. Combined with its tankwagon and transport divisions, Santmyer wholesales approximately 80 million gallons of commercial fuel products such as gasoline and diesel fuel each year.
