Fourth Generation Texan

Matt was born to a pastor and a schoolteacher in Tyler. His father’s work as a pastor moved them to San Antonio when Matt was 6, and that’s where he sewed his Texas roots. Matt went on to graduate high school from Castle Hills First Baptist School, where his mother worked. Matt and his wife Jennie have five children.

Community Banker

A licensed attorney, Matt works at a community bank helping our neighbors with life’s major milestones like saving for college, getting a mortgage or starting a small business.

Local Leader

When Matt moved back home to Texas, along with his wife Jennie and son Jeremiah, they immediately got involved in the Tarrant County community. Matt joined the Tarrant Republican Party and became Precinct Chair for his precinct, helping out with Republican candidates’ campaigns during various primary and general election cycles.

Matt feels that Tarrant County embodies all the values, beliefs, and traditions that make Texas the greatest state in America.

Helping Children

Matt has been recognized as a legislative champion for his efforts to help some of the most vulnerable among us — medically fragile children. He has worked to cut bureaucratic red tape and improve the system for these kids and their parents.
