Signed to Star Trak in 2005, Thicke continued work on his second album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke. The first single, " Wanna Love U Girl ", featured producer Williams and charted successfully on urban radio in the United Kingdom. Patton isn't the only one lobbing abuse allegations. Thicke's lawyer alleges Patton is being investigated by the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services for emotional abuse, reported TMZ in January 2017, claiming she has intentionally tried to alienate Julian from his dad.
Although Thicke and Pharrell Williams achieved chart-topping success with "Blurred Lines," the family of Motown icon Marvin Gaye claimed the pop stars stole their hit song from Gaye's catalog.
