Lisa Marie Black is a senior attorney with Berding | Weil in the corporate and business law department. She provides general counsel services to community associations concerning day-to-day operations, elections, rules, governance, and real property/title issues.
Ms. Black has practiced in real estate and business law for almost twenty years. Before focusing on community association law, she spent over eight years as a civil litigator.
Ms. Black has her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she earned an outstanding student leader award. She also earned her Master of Arts in Economics and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
Ms. Black was admitted to practice in California in 2003 (active). She is also admitted to the state bars in Massachusetts (2002; inactive) and New Mexico (2019 ; active). She presents and writes articles on community association topics in California.

For over 15 years, Sheryl has handled complex litigation in both New York State and federal courts from inception through motion practice and trial. In particular, she has handled negligence claims, class actions and Federal Civil Rights actions brought pursuant to 42 USC § 1983 Law.
