Oliver PlattOliver Babish (Oliver Platt): The fifth and final White House Counsel of the Bartlet administration, but the second of the two characters to be shown in that position during the series.
In season six Leo had a heart attack outside Camp David, leading to his replacement by White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg.
Babish left his job as White House Counsel shortly before the 2006 Presidential Election to become a partner at a D.C. law firm because he was going to be out of a job soon anyways. However, he eventually became the United States Attorney General under President Matthew Santos.

Annabeth SchottAnnabeth Schott was a producer for The Taylor Reid Show who later accepted a job at the White House as Deputy Press Secretary after C.J. Cregg's promotion to Chief of Staff. She would later participate in the Santos campaign and Santos administration.
When Sam does reappear, it is implied that Sam lost the election to Congressman Webb, and then declined the promotion to Senior Counselor to the President that had been suggested by Toby.
Family. Platt was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to American parents Sheila Maynard, a clinical social worker, and Nicholas Platt, a career diplomat who served as U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, Zambia, and the Philippines.
In Season 4, Episode 19 Toby says that his draft number for Vietnam was not called. Toby was married to Andrea Wyatt, who serves as a congresswoman from Maryland.

Despite McGarry's death, the Santos-McGarry ticket narrowly wins the election over the Vinick-Sullivan ticket by a 30,000-vote margin in Nevada and McGarry posthumously becomes the Vice President-elect after Santos' victory.
C.J., however, seems more than reasonably distressed by the whole incident. She pays Hoynes a visit to give him a warning, and it becomes clear that she was one of the women with whom the Vice President had an affair.
John Hoynes is an American politician of the Democratic Party, who served as Vice President of the United States under Josiah Bartlet from 1999 to 2003, when he resigned due to a sex scandal.
