The Victim/Witness Coordinator of the State’s Attorney’s Office was formed in 1985 through the Office of the Illinois Attorney General to serve the needs of victims and witnesses of violent crimes. The primary function is to provide information, referrals and professional support during your involvement with the criminal justice process.

The main goal of this office is to protect the safety and welfare of all Bureau County residents as well as working to bring justice to those who have been victimized.
The State's Attorney's office serves as the chief law enforcement officer and legal advisor for the Bureau County Board and all elected and appointed County Officials.

If you are 18 years of age or older, you may apply for court supervision if the ticket indicates that no court appearance is required. This would be for minor traffic offenses such as speeding, disobeying traffic control device, and similar traffic offenses.
The State’s Attorney’s Office is committed to fighting the negative impact of bad checks passed to local merchants. The primary purpose of the Bad Check Restitution Program is to recover full restitution for the victim without adding to the financial burden of the criminal justice system.
