Mr. O’Malley serves as the U.S. Department of Transportation Senior Advisor to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). Mr. O’Malley previously served as the first Senior Advisor to the United States Transportation Command from March 2017 to August 2019.
In 2019, Mr. Konopka transitioned from DHS to become the Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Emergency Management Center. In this role, Mr. Konopka oversaw the Operations, Preparedness, and Administration Branches and served as the Department’s Program Manager for Continuity of Operations and Continuity of Government Programs.
Prior to his most recent assignment as the Department of Transportation (DOT) Senior Advisor (DOTAD) to USTRANSCOM, Carlos Sanchez held the position of Deputy Associate Director within the Secretary’s Office of Intelligence, Security, and Emergency Response. In that capacity, Mr. Sanchez managed and led every function of the intelligence cycle resulting in the distribution of finished intelligence products to the Secretary, her senior staff, and the Department’s Administrators. Because of this, he regularly engaged with the National Security Council and White House staff to coordinate the development of intelligence products supporting meetings on key national safety, security, and resilience issues. Mr. Sanchez’ eight years in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST) afforded him invaluable exposure to numerous programs, policies, and issues relating the execution of the Department’s roles and responsibilities during national all-threats / all-hazards response and recovery efforts as well as transportation safety regulation harmonization with foreign governments.
