In January 2014, the Florida State Supreme Court allowed a proposed constitutional amendment that would approve the medicinal use of marijuana to be placed on the ballot for Florida voters to approve or reject. If approved, the amendment would have allowed doctors to prescribe marijuana for patients with certain medical conditions and/or debilitating diseases.
