He has prosecuted firearms crimes, including the case of four people involved with firearms used in the 2007 Trolley Square shooting. Specifically, the lawmakers wanted Huber to provide them with the number of witnesses he had interviewed along with their names and the number remaining to be interviewed. They also wanted to know how many Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act or FISA applications as well as the number and nature of documents he reviewed.

Republicans want details as to the number of documents and witnesses included in Huber’s investigation. In a letter sent last Monday, they pressed Huber for details about documents and witnesses he has reviewed. Republican Representatives Jim Jordan of Ohio, Doug Collins of Georgia and Mark Meadows of North Carolina wrote:
Two weeks ago, when the President directed AG Barr to declassify documents concerning government agencies’ surveillance activities against the Trump campaign, that allowed Huber and the Justice Department to once again focus on how our own intelligence agencies conducted themselves in the whole affair and if everything was done above board.
Barr said, “He [Horowitz] doesn’t have the power to compel testimony, he doesn’t have the power really to investigate beyond the current cast of characters at the Department of Justice,” Barr said. “His ability to get information from former officials or from other agencies outside the department is very limited.”.
Barr has said that he is investigating government agencies’ surveillance activities against the Trump campaign. As part of that effort, Barr asked Trump to grant him the authority to declassify documents related to those surveillance activities . He also asked Trump to direct various government agencies, including the CIA and FBI, to provide documents as part of the investigation.
One focus of the probe was whether the FBI misled the federal surveillance court in applications for spy warrants against Carter Page.

In addition to an investigation into the request for a warrant to surveil Trump campaign aide Carter Page, Huber was looking into whether the DOJ ignored allegations about Clinton’s ties to the sale of U.S. uranium rights to a subsidiary of a Russian nuclear energy company. He was also reportedly investigating Clinton’s use of a personal email server and the dealings of her family’s foundation.

In January 2019, the Republican ranking members of the House Government Oversight Committee and the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Huber seeking an update of his work. They also expressed disappointment that he refused to testify at a subcommittee hearing titled, “Oversight of Nonprofit Organization: A Case Study on the Clinton Foundation.”
A source familiar with Durham’s investigation told Fox News on Thursday that parts of what Huber was investigating in 2017 -- involving the Clinton Foundation -- have been incorporated in Durham’s investigation.
In November 2017, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed Huber, the U.S. attorney for Utah, and other senior prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” involving the sale of Uranium One, and other dealings related to the Clinton Foundation. Sessions tapped Huber after requests by congressional Republicans, who had been calling for the appointment of a special counsel to review the matters.
This was after newly released Justice Department records showed numerous phones belonging to members of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team were wiped of information because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device, intentional deletion or other reasons —all before the Justice Department inspector general’s office could review the devices.
Durham was appointed by Attorney General Barr last year to investigate the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe shortly after Mueller completed his yearslong investigation into whether the campaign colluded with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election.
