Early Life and Education
Mr. Powell was born in upstate Illinois, in a small town where his family has owned their farm going back to the Civil War. While Mr. Powell was a child, his father joined the Navy and moved the family to California. Mr. Powell later moved to Idaho for college, graduating from Idaho State University in 1996 with High Honors.
Family
Mr. Powell has a wife and five children. His eldest son goes to Santa Clara University’s law school. Mr. Powell, along with his wife, Kristen, are active in several charities. They are Partners in Hope with St. Jude Hospital and the Powell Law Firm donates a percentage of each settlement to St. Jude, helping children to fight cancer.
Awards and Recognition
Mr. Powell has been honored in several publications for his abilities as an excellent trial lawyer. The National Trial Lawyers Association recently listed him among their Top 100 Lawyers and he earned a membership in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
