Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy isn't a hard game, but it's one of that requires close observation. The Xbox One port is a major upgrade over the original. The two mechanics you need to be familiar with are "pressing" statements and "presenting" evidence.
The Ace Attorney series is a nice example of a fairly realistic game, even though the legal accuracy of Ace Attorney can sometimes be troubling, and the series can occasionally get things wrong about the law.
According to a leaked roadmap (translated here), Ace Attorney 7 entered pre-production back in 2019, with main production kicking off across 2020 and 2021.

Let’s start things off with the newly-announced game, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. This is actually a collection of two games previously released only in Japan for the 3DS and mobile devices, Dai Gyakuten Saiban and Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 (now officially titled The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve in English). While the main series is set in the near future, these are far-distant prequels that take place in Meiji era Japan and star Phoenix Wright’s ancestor, Ryunosuke Naruhodo. After traveling to Britain in order to continue studying, he crosses paths with none other than Sherlock Holmes–or rather, Herlock Sholmes. Yes, Capcom decided that for the Western release of these games, it was safer to go with the time-honored tradition of renaming Holmes to Sholmes.
The Phoenix Wright Trilogy. Now let’s move on to where it all began. All three then came to the Nintendo DS, ...

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will be out on July 27, bringing these prequel spin-offs to the West at last. If you’re a newcomer to the series, there is also a special bundle called the Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection that bundles The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles together with the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Only ever released on the 3DS, this crossover brings the courtroom deductions of the Ace Attorney series together with the puzzle-solving investigations of the Professor Layton series in a standalone story about witch trials in a strange, magical city. While I have my criticisms of its story, it’s both an homage to the two series it comes from, as well as a game that can be played without knowledge of either. Unfortunately, there’s no sign of it coming to any other platform (and it never even goes on sale when the other games do).

For the purposes of this article, I have looked over each major Ace Attorney game and spinoff. Every game has its own details on when events take place, allowing them to be described on a case-by-case basis. If simply going through the games according to when they (mostly) take place, this would be the best order to go about it.
Trying to follow the games as they happen can be a little more than challenging, as you can see. Part of why the series is structured like this is to fill in some gaps, set up interesting plot threads, and provide simple tutorials that still allow fan-favorite characters to show up.
Phoenix Wright is a rookie defense attorney who is the main character and playable protagonist of the game. Maya Fey is Wright's second client and Mia's younger sister. After the events of Turnabout Sisters she becomes his defense aide.

Mia Fey is Wright's mentor and acts as his defense counsel during The First Turnabout. Despite being murdered in Turnabout Sisters, she continues to help Wright out of tight spots via the channeling abilities of her younger sister Maya. Wright Talent/Anything Agency. The Wright Anything Agency in 2026. The film stars Hiroki Narimiya, Mirei Kiritani, and Takumi Saitoh. In the film, rookie defense attorney Phoenix Wright takes on a series of court cases, culminating in one that pits him against Manfred von Karma, a prosecutor who has remained undefeated throughout his forty-year career.
The music for Ace Attorney was composed by Kōji Endō [ ja], known for scoring other films by Takashi Miike. For the soundtrack, Endō chose to use various themes by Masakazu Sugimori from the original video game and re-arranged them for an ensemble consisting of a string orchestra, an oboe, a clarinet, two French horns, a trumpet, and a choir. Additional background music was also newly composed. The soundtrack was later released on CD to tie in with the movie. The film's theme song, "2012Spark", was composed and performed by the Japanese male rock group Porno Graffitti.
Wright proves that Miles is innocent of his father's murder, and uncovers evidence that von Karma was the one who murdered Gregory Edgeworth after having committed perjury. However, he cannot prove it as the gun Gregory was believed to have tampered with and was killed with has gone missing.
