According to Danganronpa director Kazutaka Kodaka, Phoenix Wright's success in North America was due to how it distinguished itself from most visual novels with its gameplay mechanics, which Danganronpa later built upon and helped it also find success in North America.

Early brainstorming suggestions for Phoenix's name included "Cole" and "Wilton", but "Phoenix" was chosen as a name that would "stand out". The nickname "Nick" (used by his partner, Maya Fey) was chosen based on its believability and similarity to the sound of "Phoenix".

I posted something very similar a couple days ago but it got removed for breaking rule 5. Sorry mods. I want to expand on my original thoughts and remove the rule breaking paragraph.
So both these games are very highly recommended, sound like I would enjoy them, AND everyone says you should go in blind, or I'd watch gameplay vids/reviews. Instead I'm asking patientgamers. No spoilers please!
Before trying Sekiro, I had only played the first Dark Souls and Bloodborne. I put a good number of hours into the former with little progress to show for it (maybe 2 or 3 main bosses defeated), and considerably more hours into Bloodborne, which I enjoyed quite a bit more but still came nowhere near to completing.
I know we see posts like this weekly about not forcing yourself to invest in your backlog, but I think this is an important aspect we might overlook sometimes.
I love UIs that fit the tone or personality of the game. I prefer it to the standardized, minimalist UI that it seems like every modern game uses.
When I first played Horizon: Zero Dawn three years ago, I had only been a PS4 owner for a year and still had a lot of great games to catch up with. I had played some gems like Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us, but I hadn’t experienced an open world other than Skyrim. I instantly fell in love with HZD and it became my favorite game.
I've played it before and while I don't enjoy playing that sort of game I love everything it has going for it.
