During calendar year 2021, all members of the General Assembly shall receive $40,242 annually payable in twelve equal monthly amounts. In calendar year 2022, all members of the General Assembly whose terms commence on the first day of the legislative session beginning in January of 2021 shall receive $41,449 annually.
Senators serve four-year terms, while members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms.
Therefore, members receive a full month salary in January at the beginning of their term, and their last month of salary in December at the end of their term. Health care and other benefits end on December 31 immediately before the end of their term.
Section 2-2-307, C.R.S., governs the salaries of the members of the General Assembly. Members of the General Assembly receive the same salary each year of their term, unless an exception is made in statute.
