May 08, 2020 · In 2009 Olsen was convicted of the capital murder of Etta Westbrook and was sentenced to be executed. However, after a retrial was ordered for 2016, the prosecution dropped the death penalty.
Olsen's attorney, Billy Carter, said he wasn't surprised by prosecutors' decision and had told Olsen to expect a new trial.

Jun 25, 2021 · Christian moved in with Kelly’s family when he turned 18, and it was revealed that the two of them forged documents and stole money from Geraldine. When she found out about it, Kelly admitted to coaxing Christian into killing her mother. Christian stood trial for Etta’s murder in 2009 and was eligible for the death penalty.
Later, a tip from Kelly’s husband led the police to another murder investigation. This was of 63-year-old Geraldine Lloyd , who lived on the same street. In fact, she was Kelly’s mother, and Christian had been living in that house for a while along with Kelly.
The Mississippi native had two sons and a daughter that she could rely on for support. Her children remembered her as a devout Christian who loved life and was a member of the local church. Etta spent her free time making pots and painting, two of her biggest passions.
A cashier positively identified Christian Olsen, Westbrook’s neighbor, as the man using her cards. The police tracked Olsen down, and he confessed. Olsen’s interview was shared with jurors later in his trial, local news outlet The Eagle reported.
Christian Olsen was only 14 — a child —when he started hanging out at his classmate Melissa’s house. Melissa, who would date Olsen briefly, describes him as “super smart” and someone who excelled in everything he tried. His contentious relationship with his adoptive parents came to a head when his flirtatious texts with Melissa’s mother Kelly were found, according to Shane Phelps, First Assistant District Attorney with the Brazos County DA’s Office.

Sifuentez, who had taken a plea deal resulting in a sentence to 30 years for criminal solicitation of capital murder, was found hanging in her cell in May of 2015, six years into her prison sentence, according to KBTX.
A happenstance malfunction where a storm triggered alarms brought the police to the home of Etta Jean Westbrook in Bryan, Texas on June 3, 2007 — just across the street from Geraldine Lloyd’s house.
