Why does Maya call Phoenix Wright Nick?

Early brainstorming suggestions for Phoenix's name included "Cole" and "Wilton", but "Phoenix" was chosen as a name that would "stand out". The nickname "Nick" (used by his partner, Maya Fey) was chosen based on its believability and similarity to the sound of "Phoenix".

Backgrounds

Backgrounds work largely the same in AO2 as in AO1. However, AO2 supports full DS resolution (256x192). To activate this, simply add "stand.png", "defensedesk.png" and "prosecutiondesk.png", all scaled to 256x192 to a background. AO2 will detect them and automatically expand the resolution. The background gs4 comes with these images.

Custom objections

Many characters in the Ace Attorney universe and others have their own twist to the objection. AO has functionality to reflect this. This is used by adding two files to a character folder; custom.wav and custom.gif. custom.wav is the sound file that will be played and custom.gif is the objection bubble that will be shown.

Flipping

AO also has a feature to "flip" your character. This mirrors all your character gifs, so any character can take defense or prosecution role. To enable, simply check the "flip" checkbox (the checkbox will not be present if the server does not support this feature).

Spectator

AO allows you to view a server without picking a character; simply click the "Spectator" button at the bottom of the charselect screen. However, when you have already picked a character, you will need to type /switch (serverD) or /charselect (tsuserver) for the spectator button to appear on the charselect.

Evidence

AO 2.4.0 introduces proper evidence (it's quite bugged in versions earlier than 2.4.3, though). To edit the name of evidence, simply double-click its name and press enter when done. To see its description, double-click the evidence itself. Double-click the description to make it editable. I hope you're seeing a pattern here.
