Richards said the money for the attorneys was “crowdfunded” and that the people with the final decision on the film crew were Rittenhouse’s family and adviser.
In a preview of the documentary footage, Rittenhouse can be seen talking about his feelings after the jury unanimously found him not guilty of all charges, including intentional homicide.
Researcher Matthew Gertz of the media watchdog group Media Matters for America tweeted last month that “it’s fruitless to fact-check a wildly dishonest demagogue like Tucker Carlson”.
Tucker Carlson admitted during a recent interview with conservative talk show host Dave Rubin that he “sometimes lies” on his show.
Carlson is known to espouse controversial theories with little basis in fact on his programme. In September 2020, Fox News won a defam ation suit against Carlson by successfully arguing that “given Mr Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer arrive [s] with an appropriate amount of scepticism about the statement he makes”.
Tucker Carlson doesn't verify stories or fact check either. The Fox attornies said in court that no reasonable person would believe what he says. https://t.co/Rl0JVhIUrD
