Laura is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law, and Probate and Trust Law sections of the Minnesota State Bar Association. She is a past chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and continues to serve on the Governing Council.
Laura is a graduate of Iowa State University and of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota where she served as an editor of the Hamline Law Review and graduated fourth in her class.
Laura and her husband, Michael, have been married for 40 years. They have two amazing adult children: daughter Lindsey is a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with autistic children; son Brian served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
