Episode 5: Rise from the Ashes is the final episode of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. An extra episode for the Nintendo DS version of the game which also saw an international release, it was not present in the original Japan-only release on the Game Boy Advance.

Early brainstorming suggestions for Phoenix's name included "Cole" and "Wilton", but "Phoenix" was chosen as a name that would "stand out". The nickname "Nick" (used by his partner, Maya Fey) was chosen based on its believability and similarity to the sound of "Phoenix".
