Karma asks if the Pistol Bullet came from the Pistol. Thanks to the ballistic markings (the unique identifiers of the gun), they find that it did. Karma concludes that the bullet that killed the victim was fired from the gun with the fingerprints of the defendant. The judge would declare the verdict, but he needs to listen to the witness' testimony. Karma then has the judge call a recess.
Press Lotta on her second statement. She was camping there, because she was doing a project for her university. Choose " Press further ", and Karma will object to this as research has nothing to do with the murder and has the judge sustain the objection.
Present Misty Fey's Photo to him, and he'll talk. It turns out the reason he turned down your offer is that he didn't want you to know about the DL-6 Incident. Now he sees no reason to hide. Talk to Edgeworth:

Phoenix arrives at the detention center and Maya asks if he will be her lawyer. You will be given three choices to select from, but it doesn't matter what you choose since the dialogue will link up at a similar point, but choose It's up to you anyway. Phoenix tells her that picking a lawyer is something that Maya should decide for herself. She felt more down. She doesn't think anyone would believe her, and tells him that he looked as if she had done it, back in the office. Moving along, Maya tells Phoenix that she had heard of him from her sister before. It was on the phone call before the murder that Mia narrates the story of Phoenix's first trial to her sister. She told her it was quite a spectacular trial and she was anxious the whole time. But she thought Phoenix is a great attorney and that the only thing he's lacking is experience. After being told what Mia thought of him, Phoenix decides that he can't just sit and watch as Mia's death might not be given justice and talks to Mia to gather information.
Spirit mediums: Phoenix engages in a conversation about acolytes. Maya relates that the Fey Family, especially the women, have always been very sensitive to the spirit world, and that includes Mia, to Phoenix's disbelief. Mia left the mountain to follow her career, even though her powers were first-class.
Gumshoe introduces himself and informs Phoenix that they received a report from the building across the office. Someone apparently witnessed the murder, which is surely the lady in pink. Gumshoe instructs Phoenix and Maya not to move, when suddenly the detective screams. He asks Maya if the word written on the receipt has any relevance to her, and she tells him it's her name. He says that the victim drew the note with her own blood (i.e. she wrote down the killer's name,) and instantly arrests Maya and brings her to the precinct. Phoenix was also taken in for questioning and got out the next morning. He waited for visiting hours to begin at the detention center so he could talk to Maya as soon as possible.
Grossberg says it's his pride and joy, brags about its hefty worth and tells Phoenix he has no intention of parting with it. At this point, 'Move' back to the Detention Center to inform Maya about the lawyer's refusal.
Phoenix confirms that it is blood he smells, and detects someone. He sees the still body of his chief and another girl beside her, crying. He then tries to talk to the mysterious girl until she passes out, then leaves her on the sofa to go back to Mia. He checks Mia by her shoulder and notices her body is still warm, until all too quickly she turned cold. Your first investigation will now commence.
Phoenix arrives late at their office, and smells something that seems blood. You will have the option to either 'Examine' or 'Move'. Don't bother choosing Examine for now since it won't do anything anyway, and 'Move to Office', instead. Phoenix confirms that it is blood he smells, and detects someone.
Officer Mike Meekins then arrived and attempted to give Edgeworth a file relating to another case, but Edgeworth dismissed him, merely shooed the officer away. Per Edgeworth's suggestion, Wright and Ema headed to the police department. Out front, Wright noticed a "dancing machine" and someone dancing by its side.
During the recess, Gumshoe handed Wright a book called "Evidence Law". It contained the two rules when submitting evidence to the court, with a message from Lana: "if you want to take HIM on, you're going to need this book".
Before the trial could start, Gant had a proposal to make. He wanted Lana to be the first to speak, and it was accepted. Lana confessed to the murder once more , wanting the trial to end and even forfeiting her right to have an attorney. The judge agreed, and was about to give his verdict when Edgeworth objected, claiming he hadn't proven the defendant guilty yet. Something must have happened behind the scenes to make the defendant suddenly confess again. He called Ema to the court to testify, but Lana objected. Lana's objection was overruled, and Ema testified about the time she witnessed Neil's murder.
It is one of the longest episodes in the Ace Attorney series to date, spanning three investigation chapters and seven trial chapters and having the player carry more evidence in the court record than in any other episode in the main series of Ace Attorney games.

In response, Gant agreed to tell Wright only one thing: the ID number of this second victim. Using the ID number provided by Gant, Wright concluded that the murdered detective was apparently... also Bruce Goodman, as the ID number of the evidence room victim and that on Goodman's police badge were identical.
Lana just came back from questioning, and told him the police was also clueless. Wright said he found Marshall's print at the evidence room, so he would be accusing him for the time being.
On the right screen, examine the phone to learn that it has been tampered with. When you do this, Phoenix sees a woman in a nearby hotel call the police. On the left screen, examine Mia's body. Phoenix will note "The Thinker" statue is the murder weapon, and he also notes the glass shards from the broken lamp.
Maya asks if you will be her attorney. Pick any response, and Maya relates a conversation she had with her sister. Mia said that Phoenix is a good lawyer, but he's lacking in experience. Here, you want to talk to Maya about four conversation topics. Talk to Maya about herself to learn that she is a spirit medium.
She writes Phoenix a memo about the phone. When you talk to Maya about all four topics, she asks you about Mr. Grossberg. Grossberg is a lawyer, and Maya wants him to defend her in court.
The Judge sees that Phoenix is a new lawyer, and so he decides to give Phoenix a short quiz to ensure that Phoenix knows the details of the case. At any time during the trial, you can press the Court Record button in order to look at evidence and character profiles.
It was first released in English on the Nintendo DS, and it was later released on Wii-Ware and on iOS. This guide is for the Wii-Ware version of the game. Unlike the DS version of the game, Case Five is sold separately from the other cases.
Phoenix explains that he knows the defendant personally. The defendant is Larry Butz , Phoenix's best friend since grade school. Larry is a good guy, with a bad habit of getting into trouble. Larry has been accused of killing his girlfriend.
Phoenix reveals that he knew Edgeworth, before the two of them became lawyers. Edgeworth tells Phoenix not to expect special treatment as a result of this fact. Edgeworth still wants to get a guilty verdict, no matter what. The trial begins, and Edgeworth wants to introduce Redd White as a witness.
