Phoenix Wright attempts to clear the defendant's name throughout the episode in a series of phases. One phase involves collecting information that will help prove his client is innocent.
Phoenix Wright starts with five and loses one for every penalty received. The usual way to receive a penalty is by presenting irrelevant evidence on a witness's statement during a cross-examination.

five casesIn this game, there are five cases, and each one is incredibly engaging and thrilling! Without trying to reveal to much though, I'll warn that a decent amount of the game references cases from the first two Ace Attorney games, so be prepared for that if you haven't played them yet.

The trilogy improves as it goes. Trials and Tribulations is so much more refined than the first game, removing much of the repetitive gameplay.#N#This is absolutely a visual novel, and the game suffers the worst when it plays more like a game. The investigation parts can be pretty bad or boring. This is the most improved aspect of the game over the trilogy. The final investigations are incredible.#N#The cases are usually well-written with one glaringly poor case. The twists and turns are exciting, and the final case really shows what's so special about these games. The characters and cases are both fantastic. Some of the best writing in video games. It's worth being played by any game fan.
A solid remaster of a great set of visual novel games. The Ace Attorney series is wonderful, and it was nice to replay the first 3 games with higher fidelity artwork, on the big screen, with trophies to unlock. The writing is great, the characters are charming and funny, and there are a lot of twists and turns in the stories. Each case has its own identity, and it's often impressive how well the mysteries are put together, and how they unfold. There are some minor issues of course, such as occasional leaps of logic and a couple of underwhelming cases, but it's largely very good.#N#The Ace Attorney Trilogy is great, and I highly recommend it. Just don't forget that there are three more games in the series, and a few spinoffs as well!
