Jun 11, 2017 · The attorney made me seek medical advice, and have an MRI. I was scheduled to make a statement to my insurance company, but the lawyer cancelled it. He wanted more information. It is now six weeks later, I still am in a rental car, and the lawyer dropped the case. What do I do now? Why would my lawyer just drop the case like that?

Second most important thing is to take good care of yourself and receive the treatment you need to properly recover. Don't let insurance coverage or the lack of an attorney impact your treatment.
Call your current lawyer and find out why they have dropped you as a client. Get a release stating that they are no longer representing you as a client. You may want to talk to the SSA to ensure that they understand you are going to hire a new disability lawyer.
