Michael F. Dowd (born January 10, 1961) is a former New York City Police Department (NYPD) corrupt officer, drug distributor, and criminal associate of the Diaz organization who was arrested in 1992 for running a drug ring out of Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Dowd was arrested in 1992. After investigations by the Suffolk County Police, the DEA, and NYPD's internal affairs, Dowd was convicted of racketeering and conspiracy to distribute narcotics and sent to prison for his crimes. He cooperated with the Mollen Commission, which investigated allegations of corruption in the NYPD.
A Baltimore mother has been charged with brutally murdering her two children after their decomposing bodies were discovered — just days after neighbors reported hearing one of them screaming, “Mommy, no.” Jameria Hall, 28, was arrested Wednesday after police were called to investigate a foul odor coming from the family’s apartment a day earlier.
Following the crimes, she told police a man had attempted to carjack her and had shot the children. She was convicted in 1984 and sentenced to life in prison plus fifty years.
