Good QM operations. Work culture rough. Needed to catch up to current times for core operations. Leadership travelled a lot not in touch with daily operations causing a slow down in responses or changes.

Work with a purpose

When you work at the VA you feel like your work has a purpose. You are helping America’s heroes. You just have to focus on your work and not on the politics going on in the building. Management is going to tell you they are doing things for you but it seems they never come through with their promises.

Laborer at Dept of VA affairs . Custodial duties mainly inside of medical clinic or hospital. Pay starts out around $15.00-18.00 hourly depending on location. Full medical benefits and pension for permanent employees. Good place to work.

Work with fellow Veterans

As I am a Veteran, there's an enjoyment of assisting and aiding fellow Veterans. Everyone is pleasant and management is easy to talk to and available. Workplace culture is casual and respectful. The hardest past of the job is seeing veterans that are in poor health.

I worked for the VA at Leavenworth for 43+ years. During that time I held multiple positions in 3 different departments with promotions along the way. The ability to move between departments utilizing different job skills and aquiring a wide range of experience was very beneficial to me.

Productive & Fun place to work

It’s a production based job with lots of incentives and opportunities for job growth and advancement. Must be focused, flexible and willing to learn.
