In other words, can your client force you to report opposing counsel’s misconduct even though you believe the report will embarrass or harm your client?
The only Ethical Consideration that illuminates DR 1-103 is of low candlepower. EC 1-4 states:

If the Committee determines that a complaint describes a meaningful violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct, it will begin an investigation supervised by one of its staff lawyers.
