Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Milgram served as New Jersey’s Attorney General where she headed the 9,000-person Department of Law and Public Safety where she spearheaded a program to prevent crime and enhance public safety by implementing innovative criminal justice approaches and establishing services to aid with re-entry.

Milgram is presently a Professor of Practice and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at New York University School of Law, where she is building a Criminal Justice Innovation Lab, dedicated to using data and technology to transform the American criminal justice system.
Political career She was nominated by Governor Corzine on June 4, 2007, to replace Stuart Rabner as Attorney General when he was selected to serve as Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Seventeen days later, Milgram was confirmed by the State Legislature unanimously to the position, 38-0.
