The Trial Editor is split into four tabs:
The evidencetab is the place where you can create evidence that will appear in the Court Record.
As Phoenix Wright, you’re a defense attorney that struggles through each difficult case. You’ll search for clues during investigation sequences, then cross-examine witnesses in the courtroom to discover inconsistences in testimony. It’s a logic puzzle adventure where the logic is often completely zany.
There are two problems with the default settings in Ace Attorney Trilogy — one blocks off most of the screen, while the other wrecks the framerate on PC. If you want to have a good experience with this wonderful little series, I recommend making these changes right away.
It’s well worth your time, and the remastered Ace Attorney Trilogy features redrawn artwork for every character and background, upscaling the low-res handheld games for modern screens. There’s just one problem — the default settings are all wrong.
Character articles have name sections, which are meant to describe the origins and meanings behind the names of each character in every language. These sections should be written in bullet-point form, and should generally explain either the etymology of a name, or a reason a name was chosen.
Being in categories is a very easy way to get readers to find the article you worked so hard on. If an article is not categorized, it becomes very difficult to notice and find, especially if the article is on a less prominent subject. In this case, the article may never be improved or appreciated.
Editors should also not make a habit of noting unknown information, except in unavoidable cases such as having to include a character's unnamed sister-in-law in their list of relatives. This is to avoid judging which "unknowns" are more important than others, and to make a more coherent article-writing strategy.
The Ace Attorney Wiki is generally not the place to record or discuss speculative information. Speculation related to the in-universe "lore" of the Ace Attorney series can easily be refuted by future additions to the lore (usually through new games) and may even confuse readers as to what is established fact. Other speculation tends to come in the form of claimed "references" to other media. Because the series has many actual references to other media, it can be tempting to see more "hidden" references. The problem with this is that the very act of looking for references will statistically lead to finding something that seems close enough to one. This is an example of the Texas sharpshooter fallacy and should be avoided.
Many names in the series are based on puns. As such, while the ideal would be for every name to have an official explanation as to its origin, most names' meanings are implied to be obvious enough not to be worth confirming explicit ly. In fact, very few names are officially explained.
Note: Attorney Online was remade as "AO2", released in february 2017. The terms AO and AO2 are used interchangeably in this document. You will most likely have AO2 (this can be checked if there is an "About" button in the top right corner of the lobby). When a clear distinction between versions 2 and 1 need to be made, the terms AO2 and AO1 are used.
The complexity of Attorney Online may seem daunting at first, but rest assured, this document explains nearly every aspect of the client in depth. Please refer to the ToC above to quickly find instructions for a specific topic.
