Background

Pop Windibank had a good relationship with Sholmes, who installed a recording device to protect the shop from theft. But the pawnbroker was not convinced that the Great Detective's device was of any use to him, as the camera film needed was expensive and pictures were only taken every thirty minutes.

Conspiracy

In February, Windibank's pawn shop became part of a scheme of leaked government secrets. On the night of the 15th, the owner was given a black coat from Beppo to be deposited. Unbeknownst to Windibank, the coat hid a music disc that was embedded with a secret telegram containing four names involved in a conspiracy.

In April, Pop was visited again by Sholmes, who was accompanied by Ryunosuke Naruhodo and Susato Mikotoba. It was at this time that the pawnbroker finally told the Great Detective that what he took home was a viola instead of his violin.

Personality

Pop Windibank took his job seriously as a pawnbroker. This often included pointing a gun at his own head to protect important secrets or items in his shop, or when he felt like he had made a huge mistake or allowed an item to be stolen.
