There is no time limit within which to indict. The DA can send cases to the grand jury when it is appropriate to do so. If they were charged with felonies, they would have had their bond hearings and/or probable cause hearings.
As A practical matter it can take quite some time for cases to make it to Superior Court. Some District Court Judges become impatient with the state if cases are not transferred in a reasonable time, especially when the defendants are held in jail under bond. A bond reduction motion may be in order.
