The state attorneys general investigating Google want to take a much deeper look into the tech giant’s advertising practices.

At the same time, the ABA strongly encourages advertising, particularly as a way to make the public aware of valuable legal services, especially in markets that are traditionally underserved.
"In the old days it was unethical to advertise," said Texas attorney Jim Adler. "The bar could come after you and take away your law license. And it was also a crime."
At Monday’s press conference in front of the Supreme Court, Paxton said that Google “dominates all aspects of advertising on the internet and searching on the internet,” The Washington Post reported.

Bidding on “long tail” keywords can help reduce your Google advertising costs. For example, the addition of words such as “best,” “near me,” and “free consultation” may lower your bid prices because they make the search term more precise.
Another great way to control your spend and not waste money on irrelevant keywords is to use negative keywords. Negative keywords will prevent your ad from displaying any time the negative keyword is included in the search query.
The search engine wins because they get paid a fee for that click. The customer wins because they just discovered a good potential product or service to buy. And you, the advertiser, win because you just bought a highly targeted potential customer.
What I’ve always secretly thought (as a result of personal inbound and conversion data) is that the word “lawyer” attracts just as much actual consumer traffic as the word “attorney,” and in some cases, even converts better for certain types of plaintiff practices (notably criminal defense and bankruptcy).
