His wife Hilda was proud of her daddy (as she calls him), C. H. Wystan, who was Rumpole's Head of Chambers, and she frequently advocates that Rumpole seek a higher position in the legal world such as Head of Chambers, Queen's Counsel or a judgeship.

( 1992-12-03) Rumpole of the Bailey is a British television series created and written by the British writer and barrister John Mortimer. It starred Leo McKern as Horace Rumpole, an elderly London barrister who defended a broad variety of clients, often underdogs.
In the early 1970s Mortimer was appearing for some football hooligans when James Burge, with whom he was sharing the defence, told him: "I’m really an anarchist at heart, but I don’t think even my darling old Prince Peter Kropotkin would have approved of this lot." "And there," Mortimer realised, "I had Rumpole."
(In fact, he enters a plea of guilty on behalf of his clients in "Rumpole's Last Case".) But if he has any doubt whatsoever about the facts surrounding the commission of the crime, even if the defendant has confessed to the deed (having stated, and proved, on one occasion that "there is no piece of evidence more unreliable than a confession!"), Rumpole feels equally honour-bound to enter a plea of " not guilty" and offer the best defence possible. His "never plead guilty" credo also prevents him from making deals that involve pleading guilty to lesser charges (again, with some exceptions; in "Rumpole and the Tap End" he persuades his client to plead guilty to assault in exchange for the dismissal of a charge of attempted murder). Rumpole also refuses to prosecute, feeling it more important to defend the accused than to work to imprison them. (There was one exception, when Rumpole took on a private prosecution, working for a private citizen rather than for the crown, but he proved that the defendant was innocent and then reaffirmed, "from now on, Rumpole only defends".)

At least she's getting married to a lovely lady, Janet ( Amanda Douge ), who doesn't seem to understand why Liz puts up with the old bat.

She currently works at Hartbrock Family Therapy Clinic, and as the family prepares for Mother's Day, we learn she did not know her parents growing up.
Now known as Snickers, the candy was marketed as a health food in the U.K. until 1990. Meanwhile, the freezer is traced to one Robert Fogarty, whose house was cleared out after he died two months ago of a heart attack. That answers the where and why of this body's emergence. (Though the slow dawning horror this guy kept a freezer with a body in his basement for decades is definitely yuck.)

He hides the Mother's Day card from his wife Marnie ( Lucy Speed ), he attempts not to interact with his disabled son, protesting a need to work. But when he gets to the office, things get worse, as Felix has called. Whoever Felix is, Barton hasn't spoken with him in a long time, and when Felix says he needs a favor, we know why. Dean insists he is out of the business and has been for 11 years. Except, considering his home life, he might come back for the right price.

Case premiered in Iceland in 2015 and has now made it to Netflix in 2016. Although the idea behind the series is not really out of the box, it’s an exciting series for those who love Scandinavian crime fiction. A smart lawyer whose drinking and recklessness send him on a path of self-destruction finds new purpose in investigating a teenager’s apparent suicide.

The ensuing legal saga continued all the way until February 2017, when Peterson reportedly entered an Alford plea to voluntary manslaughter in his wife’s murder and was released from custody. An Alford plea allows a defendant to maintain innocence while still acknowledging that the prosecution has enough evidence to convict. Prosecutors said they hoped the plea brought "a measure of justice" to Kathleen’s family.

According to The National Audubon Society, the "Owl Theory " posits that a Barred Owl—a common species in Durham—got entangled in Kathleen's hair, causing serious injuries, like the removal of part of her scalp, and caused her to fall to her death down the stairs.
Peterson's family friend was also found dead at the bottom of a staircase. Before Peterson met Kathleen in 1986, he lived in Germany with his first wife Patricia Peterson, an elementary school teacher at an American military base there, according to People. The couple had two sons, Clayton and Todd.

A breakthrough happens when Lt Yoon agrees to testify. Lt Yoon confesses to the court that the defendants were tortured and is willing to describe the methods of their torture in detail. However, Cha reports the situation to his leadership, and they are able to frame Lt Yoon for desertion, thereby nullifying his testimony and sending him off to prison.
