Ford's attorneys said in their letter that they would not produce their client's medical records because they contain "private, highly sensitive information that is not necessary for the committee to assess the credibility of her testimony.".

By contrast, the claims against Kavanaugh were uncorroborated, including one claim brought by Michael Avenatti’s client Julie Swetnick that alleged Kavanaugh was the covert leader of an underage gang rape cartel that roamed the streets of suburban Maryland searching out victims.
Later, at an “Applied Feminism and #MeToo” conference, Lovelace reports, Katz admitted the allegations were brought forward to taint any abortion jurisprudence by the Supreme Court and undermine Kavanaugh’s authority. Katz admitted:
