D.C. statehood is only one of several radical changes that Democrats aim to impose upon the United States. H.R. 1, the PRO Act, packing the Supreme Court, etc., are some additional examples.
In the letter, Republican attorney generals do not hold anything back. Quite simply, the letter informs that attempting to pass D.C. statehood via Congress is not legal; in fact, the only legal means by which Washington D.C. can become a state is by amending the United States Constitution.
It has already been established that President Biden is supportive of turning Washington D.C. into a state. Therefore, if a bill for D.C. statehood were to arrive on Biden’s desk, he would sign it into law in a heartbeat.
