The fireworks celebration at Lake Eola was cut short Monday night due to reports of a shooting that caused those in the crowd to flee. What was supposed to be a night of fun, food and fireworks turned into chaos as hundreds of people fled in droves, fearing for their safety.
On 25 June 2022, two people were killed and twenty-one people were wounded in a mass shooting in Oslo, Norway. Police are treating the incident as an "act of Islamist terrorism" targeting the Oslo LGBTQ pride event, which was hosted by the local branch of the Norwegian Organisation for Sexual and Gender Diversity.
The shootout started because of an open container. The Orlando Police Department shared bodycam footage of a shootout at the Mall at Millenia last month that left a 19-year-old dead. In the video, police can be seen confronting Sebastian Sepulveda Roman at the mall for carrying an open bottle of alcohol.
