Ace attorney episode 2: "turnabout sisters" critique (spoilers) I don't mind that part of the case, a lot of things would be considered odd in our world but they seem to work in AA, I just try not to nitpick about it. From a narrative point of view, I appreciate the ending because it lets Mia get her own closure with Redd White.

That said, Mia just winning the case for you is really lame; way to deny the feeling of accomplishment at the last second. This could be fixed by retroactively introducing a thought route or something similar.

The death of Mia Fey. One month after Wright's first trial, Redd White learned about Mia's investigation of him. He visited the Fey & Co. Law Offices and killed her with a clock shaped like "The Thinker", in which Mia had been hiding legal documentation against White.
Eventually the judge will agree with you. April says that she heard the clock from her hotel. You are then presented with two options to object with. Choose " It couldn't have rung ," and then choose " It's empty " or any other responses since it just leads to the same thing.
Before the cross-examination begins, Maya will pass a note to you. It tells you to press until the witness makes a mistake. Or bluff your way through according to this game.
Witness's Account: Cross-examination. The judge wants to know if you want to cross-examine. Choose " Yes, I'm doing it. " Choosing not to do it, gives it a quite an embarrassing predicament, realizing you'll lose the case so you'll happily decide to cross-examine her.

The episode opens with a phone conversation between Mia and Maya, Mia's younger sister, as Mia asks a favor of her sister. Maya immediately guesses that she'll be receiving an evidence, and Mia wants her to hold onto it for safekeeping for an upcoming trial.
Phoenix arrives late at their office, and smells something that seems blood. You will have the option to either 'Examine' or 'Move'. Don't bother choosing Examine for now since it won't do anything anyway, and 'Move to Office', instead.
Phoenix arrives at the detention center and Maya asks if he will be her lawyer. You will be given three choices to select from, but it doesn't matter what you choose since the dialogue will link up at a similar point, but choose It's up to you anyway. Phoenix tells her that picking a lawyer is something that Maya should decide for herself.
The trial immediately starts and we see the usual outset of the court. Phoenix determines he should not show any signs of weakness or else Edgeworth will be on him instantly. The Judge asks Edgeworth for his opening statement.
Also he finds who he soon learns is Mia's younger sister, Maya, by the body. After looking around, and helping Maya, who had just fainted from the shock, to the sofa, Phoenix calls the police, noticing the phone looks like it was in the process of being taken apart.
White gives his testimony on what he saw that night, but there is one piece of testimony that conflicts with April's from earlier, White states that Mia ran to the left, whilst April says the right, not only that, but if Mia had been running left, she would have ran away from the door and into a deadend.
The trial is about to start and outside in the lobby Edgeworth meets Phoenix, telling him he has little hope of not getting charged as guilty in this trial, not with White's influence and his own policy of always getting a guilty verdict. Court begins and they head inside, Phoenix refused an attorney as he decided to defend himself. After a very brief opening statement they call White to the stand.
