Profiles

Here you can designate who is in your game and who is not. It is important to add all your characters here because without them, you will not be able to

Evidence

Here you can put in your own evidence. Adding new evidence is simple and is similar to adding profiles. The only difference is that the options on the right are replaced by a section called Data for the check button and you can decide between

Audio

Here you can choose which music tracks and sound effects you want to use in your trial. You can preview them by clicking Play which is next to Select. You can choose as many tracks and sound effects as you require, however the Trial Editor does not save them unless you use them.

Script

This is where all the action takes place. In the Script section you can add messages, backgrounds and characters to make your game progress. A typical frame would appear as:

Save

After all your hard work, it would be best to save your trial. To do that, there is a fifth section at the top called Save this section allows you to save your game and publish if you want.

Cross-examination

The cross-examination feature functions exactly how it appears in the real games. You can press each statement as you normally would expect and you can decide which statement (s) is/are contradictory. There can also be no contradictions at all and will require all the statements to be pressed in order to continue.

Investigation

The investigation feature allows you to Examine, Move, Talk and Present when playing just like in the real games. There are slight differences in how an investigation would appear when playing it, such as the layout of the action buttons; instead of them in each corner, they are displayed as a list - much like how you would answer a question.

1.1. name

This is where you place the name of the character the same as the folder name you created, but many people also use this entity for Iniswapping.

1.2. showname

The default nickname that will appear ingame if you do not type any username (showname) in the showname bar.

1.3. gender

This is NOT an info about gender in the literal way. Gender is where you place the name of the blips the character should use when speaking. As an example, Professor Layton uses gender = plmale (pl stands for Professor Layton), while Phoenix uses gender = male (default blip of Ace Attorney in the DS Series).

1.5. chat

This is where you can select chatboxes from the client for your character. The chatboxes are located in base/misc, and you must place the name of the folder to work.

1.6. shouts

It works the same as chat, but instead of the chatboxes in base/misc, you can select default shout bubbles from different folders in base/misc. If you want the chatboxes and shouts in the same style, then name both entities the same name.

2.1. number

This is the limit number of emotions that should display in the emote list ingame. If you add more than what you did for the character, the game will fill out the missing buttons as undefined buttons.

2.2.1. Emotion Number

This is the order it will appear in the buttons/emotion dropdown list, so even if you mess up the list like 2, 1 and 3, the game will re-order the list ingame and display the following emotions as 1, 2 and 3.
